Ceres, the VP Terrain Manager

Ceres is an alternative terrain interface for Virtual Paradise (VP) based on similar concepts from Demeter for Active Worlds

Ceres is an open source project licensed under MPL version 2.0. The official source code repository is on Bitbucket.

Overview

While VP permits all users to edit terrain, the interface is clunky and not as "nice" to use as editing regular objects. Creating vast amounts of rich terrain can be an ardous task. Ceres allows the editing of terrain by using terrain markers, which are special objects placed directly on the terrain cell boundaries. Using terrain markers allows terrain to be easily copied with bots. Mass-editing of multiple terrain cells can be quickly achieved using the Ctrl-Insert shortcut and by selecting multiple terrain markers to update.

Ceres will not delete or modify any existing terrain unless a new marker is created above or below it.
