Extended Chat Regulations

This document DOES NOT reflect current AWTeen policy. It remains here for historical purposes.

What's this all about?

Due to increasing complaints received by the Caretakers regarding activity on the extended chat network, some rules will now be established regarding the extended chat network.

What are the new rules?

As an AWI-sponsored world AWTeen has been run at a 'G' rating. This means that the Conduct Guidelines established by AWI apply to AWTeen GZ.

Because Ground Zero is now effectively "extended" by Hermes, the Conduct Guidelines therefore apply to all users on the extended chat network.

The rules are not new. The enforcement is, however, slightly different now.

What is Hermes doing now?

As of 16-JUN-2006, Hermes will kick and temporarily ban users that use unacceptable language on the extended chat network.

The ban will last for one minute. Further offenses may result in a more permanent ban.

As of 08-JUL-2006, unacceptable language in the immediate 200m area of Ground Zero will be dealt with by an automatic five-minute ejection. (This will occur regardless of Extended Chat Network participation.)

What?! I can't curse anywhere in AWTeen now???

The rules described here only apply to users on the extended chat network.

If you feel the need to curse, simply either leave the network by typing h:end or switch into passive mode with h:passive on.

Remember above all: Extended chat remains a privilege in AWTeen and not an inherent right.
